In 2000, a breeding facility called Water Wheel Exotics outside of Pittsburgh, PA wanted out of the breeding business. So they wouldn’t have to spend money on taking care of the cats anymore they decided to put the cats in small cages. Seven of the cats were put in a parrot flight cage in a sub-basement and let them starve. We got a call that we could come pick 2 cats and we ended up leaving with 18 total. They weighed between 49-70 lbs and with their age they should have been close to 200lbs. We nicknamed them The Munchkins. Being so stunted, the Munchkins have all had lots of medical problems growing up, but Elsa has always kept her feisty attitude. She is very particular about who she likes and doesn’t like.
