Alex was privately owned and was traveling with his owners across the states. When he became too much for them to handle, they decided to surrender him to the EFRC in 2007. Although North American bobcats like Alex are native species here in Indiana, Alex was too socialized to be a candidate for release. Alex was also declawed before coming to live at the rescue center, so he would be unable to defend himself and survive in the wild. Despite having no claws, Alex still rules the roost in his home with his roommate, Rocky. Although he put on the tough guy attitude, Alex can show his softer side once in awhile.
