Our Cats & Their Stories

Majae Leopard
A USDA licensed breeding facility called Green Acres Exotics in Greene County, IN surrendered the animals in 2008. The animals came to the EFRC dehydrated, emaciated, declawed, with teeth and eye problems, along with many other physical and mental problems. After living for years in inadequate enclosures, they finally could get the space and vet care they needed. Majae is a black leopard, which is not a separate species of leopard, but just a recessive hair color. In the sunlight, you can see Majae’s black spots shine in his chocolate brown fur. Majae loves to eat his food either in his den box or up high on a perch. When he is excited about his food, he makes a cute “whinny” noise. Along with his many perches and climbing towers, Majae has a pile of logs that he loves to climb all over!
