Laverne Bengal

Laverne is one of two female Bengal cats that were surrendered August 27, 2021. The names of the females are named Laverne and Shirley. The name fits these girls perfectly as they are the best of friends with sweet, loving personalities. The woman who brought us these girls had rescued these two cats from a “very sketchy situation where they were abused and basically spent the first year and a half of their lives living on top of a refrigerator”. The rescuer did everything she could to try to help undo the trauma from their past, but after 5 months and the cats continuing to be too wild to handle (including urinating on her husband at night!) she decided to rehome them. After looking and talking to other rescues and shelters, it was hard for her to find one that took hybrids, was not at full capacity, and could guarantee the girls would never be separated. Luckily, she found the EFRC and the girls are already settling in great. Laverne was a little slower to warm up to her new wild life, but now she struts her stuff around her home and is making many new friends.
