In response to the uncertainty and health concerns surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Exotic Feline Rescue Center is sad to announce the cancellation of our “Run Through the Jungle 5K” on May 9th 2020.
We know this will come as a huge disappointment to all involved and clearly not the action we had hoped to take. The Exotic Feline Rescue Center takes the health and safety of our guests, volunteers and community very seriously and this is at the forefront of our decision.
The Exotic Feline Rescue Center would like to thank our sponsors, volunteers, supporters and all for their support at this time. You can help us continue to care for the cats in this uncertain time by giving your race registration money back to the EFRC. We understand that not everyone is able to do that at this time, but we appreciate your support however you choose to show it.
Once again, thank you for your continued support. The EFRC will provide the latest updates on the our website (efrc.org) and social media sites to keep you in the loop about our open status and our other 2020 events.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
This year’s race is cancelled. So far 100 of you have registered and registration is now closed. But first a word from me Gary who created this race. The race is a fundraiser and has raised a great deal of money in the past 15 years, but what we raise each year barely covers 2 days of expenses to feed and care for the big cats. The main source of income for the EFRC is daily tours. Due to the virus precautions, the EFRC is closed to the public and really hurting at this time. I’m asking you to simply allow your registration you’ve already paid to be a donation. This means we’re still a fundraiser and $2,900.00 will go directly to the EFRC at this crucial time. Please message me with any questions or concerns.
Your Race Director
Gary Anderson
This spring event is exactly what it says, a 5K run through the Exotic Feline Rescue Center. Not many people can say they've recently run by lions and tigers and pumas! RAIN or SHINE After the race ther is a live band, Craig and the Crawdads, snacks, and a free T-shirt. Registration fee includes a free pass to tour the center and runners can use their race number to get a free tour after the race. Note: The center will be closed to public tours on the day of the event until 2pm due to the Run.
This event is coordinated by a good friend of the EFRC, Gary Anderson.
